About the Feldenkrais® Method

"The aim is a body that is organized to move with minimum effort and maximum efficiency, not through muscular strength, but increased consciousness of how it works."               - Moshe Feldenkrais

Moshe Feldenkrais developed the Feldenkrais Method out of a need to heal his own knee injury. The work consists of group classes as well as individual hands on sessions. In the classes called Awareness through Movement® a student performs gentle verbally guided movement with mindful attention. In Functional Integration® hands on sessions the practitioner uses gentle, non-invasive touch while you are fully clothed to guide you to an awareness of habitual movement habits as well as an exploration of possible alternatives.

The aim of both Awareness through Movement and Functional Integration is to help you discover more efficient and effective ways of moving. This can enhance rehabilitation and ease chronic pain and tension. The Feldenkrais Method can also improve flexibility, balance, coordination and posture as well as prevent injury and improve performance in athletics and artistic pursuits.

"To make the impossible possible, the possible easy, and the easy elegant."
- Moshe Feldenkrais
